Benefits of Massage

Experts estimate that upwards of ninety percent of disease is stress-related. And perhaps nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Restorative massage, targeted therapeutic massage, and energy therapy are excellent tools for managing this stress, which translates into:

When chronic pain is an issue, such as ongoing tension in the neck and shoulders, frequent headaches, or back pain from too much time on the golf course, targeted therapeutic massage offers additional benefits. Targeted therapeutic massage utilizes a series of individualized sessions designed to progressively open tight and constricted muscle groups, to reduce chronically held tension, restore muscle balance, and to improve range of motion. The initial therapy session will begin with a thorough evaluation of your specific needs and goals. Each session thereafter  begins with an evaluation of changes experienced by the client after the previous session. Based on this evaluation, additional areas will be targeted to continue the restoration of muscle balance, comfort and movement.   

Energy Therapy

Just as each of has a physical body through which we experience our world, each of us has an energy body, too.  The energy body is a subtle current which always moves and flows through us. It may be experienced as light, heat, or emotion.  When this energy becomes stagnant or blocked, it can translate into chronically held emotional patterns or  physical tightness, discomfort,and pain. The focus of energy therapy is to facilitate the unimpeded and clear flow of this very subtle energy current. It is typically performed using a very light touch or with the practitioner's hands held slightly above the body.  While some people are naturally very sensitive to this energy current and can feel  things happening right away, others develop sensitivity over time. Either way, the effects of this subtle therapy are cumulative and are often quite profound. People frequently report feeling calm, more "centered within themselves, more in-touch with their true feelings and inner direction, and more able to make the changes in their lives that they know are necessary. Although it may seem a little "out there," don't be afraid to give this therapy a try.
